The past two decades of my involvement in the iron game can be divided into 3 interlocking phases.

Phase 1, beginning in late 1991, witnessed my entry into the sport as a rookie competitor and covers the period right up to my final contest in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2008, where I won the WBBF Universe title.

Phase 2, strictly speaking, began in 1999 whilst still a competitor. This was the year of my entry into the sports supplement distribution business – a van delivery service to gyms and shops mainly within the Yorkshire area. In 2003, we opened our retail shop in Featherstone, West Yorkshire at 53 Station Lane.

Phase 3. This covers the current period following my retirement from competition. Probably the most significant development during this period has been the launching of Hard Labour Nutrition in late 2010. This is our in-house brand. We now promote and distribute our own brand in addition to other carefully selected brands we have decided to sell on our web site.

In addition to this, we run our own independent bodybuilding show, the SportsPN Classic, now aptly re-named the SportsPN/Hard Labour Classic. We are also proud to be sponsors of the UKBFF Leeds qualifier.

Other activities include contributor to The Beef magazine, the UK’s comprehensive encyclopedia for British bodybuilding, as well as being a member of the Pumping Fit expert panel – an on-line outfit which addresses health, strength and fitness issues.
